IFTAR AT THE ISLAMIC CENTER, WASHINGTON, DC As part of HOUSE OF CREATIVE WRITING's intercultural and interfaith outreach, Ninie is offering to bring an individual or a group of non-Muslims -- who are interested in knowing about Islam -- to visit the Islamic Center mosque on Massachusetts Avenue, and observe the 'iftar' (fast-breaking dinner and gathering) and the evening 'Maghrib' prayer there during Ramadan. The individual or group will be able to observe how the Muslims are breaking their daily fast during the month of Ramadan, 1428 Hijriyyah (Wednesday, September 12 through Friday, October 12, 2007) and performing their evening prayer. After the prayer, a traditional communal dinner is provided by the mosque and you are invited to join and share. Ninie will also provide a Q & A session, if requested and as time permits.
